Vintage Tin Jewelry
Once upon a time back as far as the 1940s they sold products in these beautifully ornate containers. Just everyday items such as tea, chocolates, pharmaceuticals and make-up. The tin could then be repurposed as a decorative pretty thing to hold who knows what? More goodies, secret treasures, a special vacation savings, love letters, or maybe an illicit stash of some sort. Many originated in England and Holland and evoke such an incredible sense of nostalgia. Some are legit sought after collector’s items while others end up forgotten in attics. The forgottens and the cast-offs are my favorite; I love giving them a new life as beautiful, one of a kind sustainable creations.
Each tin is hand cut and sanded to create smooth edges, while retaining its delightfully distressed and shabby appearance.
Accents and components are all quality materials with many vintage Czech glass beads and semi-precious gemstones. With the exception of a few copper pieces, all other metals are all nickel free.
